Rachel Marks
Rachel R. Marks, Esq. has been associated with Schonfeld Law Group PC for over a decade, where she concentrates her practice exclusively in matrimonial and family law. She is an experienced litigator, skilled negotiator, and trained mediator who is dedicated to helping clients navigate some of life's most complex and emotionally challenging legal matters with strategic advocacy, practical guidance, and compassionate counsel.
Ms. Marks was admitted to the New York State Bar in 2004 after earning her Juris Doctor from Fordham University School of Law in 2003. While at Fordham, she was named to the Dean's List, served as a staff member of the Fordham Urban Law Journal, and was a member of the Fordham Student Sponsored Fellowship Board. She received her undergraduate degree from Barnard College.
Before entering private practice, Ms. Marks served as an Assistant District Attorney in the Nassau County District Attorney's Office, where she developed extensive courtroom, trial, and advocacy experience. She later served as the Administrative Attorney at the Beth Din of America, giving her unique insight into rabbinical court proceedings and Jewish communal and family law. Her ability to effectively advocate for clients in both civil and religious courts allows her to provide comprehensive representation to clients whose matters span both legal systems.
In addition to her litigation practice, Ms. Marks is a trained mediator and is certified pursuant to Part 146 of the Rules of the Chief Administrative Judge of the New York State Unified Court System. She is also a member of the Nassau County Bar Association. Her mediation training and extensive litigation experience allow her to approach disputes from multiple perspectives, working toward effective resolution when appropriate while remaining prepared to advocate vigorously in court when necessary.
Ms. Marks has published several articles addressing issues relating to domestic abuse and divorce. She is actively involved in the leadership of community organizations dedicated to strengthening and supporting families and has established a longstanding record of advocacy on behalf of individuals and families facing difficult circumstances. Her commitment to public service and community leadership reflects the same compassion, integrity, and dedication that she brings to every client she represents.
